If you do not have health insurance for your child and worry about the cost, New York State has Child Health Plus available for many children. Children under age 19 who are not eligible for medicaid and who have limited or no health insurance may be eligible. It is easy to enroll. Call 1-800-698-4543.

Should a student become ill at school, he/she will be sent to the nurse, whose responsibility it is to determine the action to be taken. Medication brought to school must be in its original container and brought to the Nurse’s Office. A written notice from the assigned physician detailing dosage and times that the medicine is to be taken must accompany the medication. A work number and emergency numbers should be made available to the school nurse for when your child is too ill to be in school.​
